Rustic grade white oak contains hints of the original milling marks from the sawmill. It is usually straight grained, but can often be irregular, or cross grained. The sapwood has a light tan to yellow-brown color. White oak has been widely used throughout history as a cornerstone wood for most any application and is the wood of choice for barrel cooperage for distilleries throughout history
