After I order my product, how long does it take to ship?

We are typically able to ship all in-stock mantel and wood shelf orders within 3 business days; however, there are occasions, such as holidays, when it may take a few extra days.

Will my mantel be the exact dimension ordered?

While we do our best to source and achieve the true dimension all of our timber mantels are reclaimed from old structures and can have up to a 1″ variance in thickness and depth, this can be due to shrinkage over time or how the barn wood material was crafted years ago.

How wide should a fireplace mantel be?

There is not an exact standard for this measurement and we will custom cut each mantel to the exact size requested. It’s common for the wood beam to either run the full width of the stone or brick face or leave 4″-6″ on both sides.

How are fireplace mantels attached?

We recommend hiring an experienced contractor for a proper and easy installation. There are several methods and most include lag bolts designed to be used with masonry for stone installations or lag bolts that will go directly into wall studs.

What color will my mantel be?

We offer the barn beam mantel in its rustic, unfinished aged brown tone or we can finish the mantel in one of our shades of tinted wax that range from light to dark.

Is there a range of texture on reclaimed products?

The texture on our rough sawn reclaimed mantels ranges from original rustic to original planed smooth and can often be a mixture. Majority of the edges will have visible nail holes from the original use. Hand hewn beams can have a texture ranging from heavy to light hewing as this process was done by hand and dependent on the craftsman who originally made the beam over a century ago.

How will my item be shipped?

We ship all of our mantel and shelf orders either via ground freight or common carriers (all lengths over 9′ or weights over 145 lbs).
